4 December 2024 Constitution Day Seminar - The Constitution and Further Deepening Reform Comprehensively
The Industrial, Commercial and Professional Sectors Sub-group under the Working Group on Constitution, Basic Law and Hong Kong National Security Law, Constitution and Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee is inviting trade and industrial organisations as well as professional associations to relay our invitation for participation in the 2024 Constitution Day Seminar to your members.
2. On 1 November 2014, the Standing Committee of the Twelfth National People’s Congress decided to designate 4 December as the “Constitution Day” and that the nation will conduct promotion and education activities of the Constitution through multiple channels in order to heighten public awareness of the Constitution, promote the spirit of and enhance the implementation of the Constitution, and advance the overall law-based governance of the country.
3. To enhance public understanding of the constitutional basis of the country and Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government and the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR will co-organise a Constitution Day Seminar on Wednesday 4 December 2024, with the Endeavour Education Centre as the supporting organisation. The Seminar will be conducted on the theme “The Constitution and Further Deepening Reform Comprehensively” to actively explore the vital functions of the Constitution in state governance and in the process of further deepening reform comprehensively, as well as Hong Kong’s integral roles in this regard. Details of the Seminar are as follows:
