About UK-Greater Bay Area Conference
Since its launch in 2023, the conference has become a key platform connecting member companies across the Greater Bay Area, South China, and beyond with leaders from government and business in both the UK and China. It has supported Chinese companies in exploring overseas markets and overcoming localisation challenges, while also helping UK businesses establish and grow their presence in China, particularly in the Greater Bay Area.
In the past two years, we were honoured to welcome distinguished speakers such as Wang Weizhong, the then Governor of Guangdong Province; Professor Hai Wen, Former Vice President of Peking University and Founding Dean of HSBC Business School; and Sarah Mann, British Consul-General in Guangzhou, who delivered keynote remarks and video messages.
In 2025, the conference will return with a half-day plenary session spotlighting the Greater Bay Area’s growing global significance. Featuring a distinguished and diverse line-up of speakers including His Majesty's Ambassador to China Peter Wilson CMG, Chair of CBBC, Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles and new Chair of CBBC, Sir Sebastian Wood. The session will bring together senior representatives from governments, business leaders and investors to explore new avenues of collaboration and growth. In the afternoon, two sub-forums will delve into the Greater Bay Area’s pivotal role as a gateway for global investment into China, and its capacity to empower local enterprises to expand their global footprint.
