About the speakers

Jon Witts is the Head of Enforcement in the Listing Division of HKEX.  Mr Witts has more than 20 years of experience relating to financial services disputes, investigations and regulatory enforcement matters, including over 11 years as a solicitor in private practice with Allen & Overy, and 7 years as Head of Litigation & Legal Investigations, Asia-Pacific for the BNP Paribas group.  He joined HKEX in 2019 to establish and support the Listing Review Committee, before taking up his current role in Enforcement in March 2020.  He read law at the University of Cambridge, and is qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong, a solicitor advocate in England & Wales, and a CEDR-accredited mediator.

 

Keith Pogson, Senior Partner, Financial Services, Asia Pacific at Ernst & Young (EY) and chairs the British Chamber of Commerce Financial Services Committee.


Keith is the immediate past Chairman of the Listing Committee of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, he has also held numerous roles with the HKICPA including previously President (2012), and is presently a member of the Governance Committee. Keith is also a Board Observer for The Womens Foundation. He is a Fellow and member of the Greater China Strategy Advisory Group of the ICAEW. 

Keith has lived and worked in HK for over 27 years (and worked for EY for over 32 years) and has extensive experience in supporting Hong Kong’s role as an International Financial Centre. Keith brings a strong knowledge of the Hong Kong Regulatory and Financial policy environment and the regional context within which that sits. 

Keith also represents EY and is the Co-Chairman of the Global Public Policy Committee Bank Working Group, the forum through which the “Big 4 +2” Accounting firms intersect with the Official Sector, such as the FSB, Basel Committee, IAIS, IOSCO and other Global Regulators and Policy makers and leads the EY relationship with these bodies. Through this he has a strong understanding of global regulatory and policy evolution around Financial Services and hence how these impact Hong Kong.
