The Committee represents and promotes the collective interests of the retail and hospitality industry in Hong Kong, including luxury brands, food & beverage and consumer goods. 

The Committee shares relevant best practice and provides support and advice within the Committee. To be at the forefront of change, addressing topics that concern industry professionals including inviting influential speakers to meetings and selecting relevant reports/finding to discuss.

The Committee aims to educate & innovate by contributing to the Chamber’s programme of events by actively suggesting speakers and topics on key issues and trends that arise in the retail and hospitality industry. The Committee also acts as a great business and social forum for members to network and meet other industry leaders.

Carmen ChiuMemberFortnum & MasonRead moreRead lessMiss Carmen Chiu joined Fortnum & Mason in August 2019 as the Regional Managing Director for the Asia Pacific region. Her responsibility is to open the first international flagship store in Hong Kong outside London and to develop new business opportunities in key markets across the region. Prior to joining Fortnum & Mason, Carmen was working with GODIVA Chocolatier for six and a half years. Her latest position was Global Communications Director based in New York and was part of the Global Executive Committee. Carmen was previously the Marketing and Merchandising Director for China and Pacific Rim and worked in Shanghai. During her tenure at GODIVA, Carmen led the marketing and merchandising team to develop brand building, strategies to cover a wide array of markets (including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Mongolia and Australia), through sound marketing plan, PR communications, visual merchandising, product innovations to meet the markets’ needs. She played a significant role in building the China expansion plan and opened a 100 company-owned stores in 3 years.  Carmen has almost 20 years of experience in brand management in the food industry across FMCG, HORECA and Retail channels, including 6 years based in China. She joined GODIVA Chocolatier from Nestle China, where she held the position of Business Development Director, responsible for the expansion of the Swiss ice cream, Movenpick, business in Greater China. Previously, Carmen spent seven years with Ferrero as Senior Brand Manager for Asia Pacific, a true lover in working for lifestyle brands regionally and globally.   A native of Hong Kong, growing up in the UK, has dedicated her career across the world. Carmen also has strong passion to support young girls to achieve their dreams. Carmen received her joint Bachelor degree in Retail Management and Mathematics from Oxford Brookes University, UK.

Murray joined Nyetimber in 2018, following the hottest British summer on record, which resulted in Nyetimber producing over 1 million bottles for the first time. Since joining the team, Murray has acted as an ambassador for the brand in the region, managing the strategic positioning of Nyetimber by engaging with Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan’s most illustrious restaurants and wine influencers, who have a growing appetite for English Sparkling Wine. As a result, Nyetimber is now listed in a slew of prestigious restaurants, bars in the region, as well as being available in selected retail outlets. As Nyetimber continues its growth, Murray will oversee several highly anticipated product launches in the region in order to maximise exposure amongst the right partners, platforms and audiences.
