The committee provides a forum for the consideration of healthcare issues and business opportunities in the healthcare sector, by bringing together the wide range of healthcare-related professionals among the Chamber membership. The committee also offers an authoritative response to consultative and policy papers prepared by the Hong Kong Government on healthcare issues that have an effect on Chamber members; and raise such issues proactively when necessary.

Sinophi works in partnership with hospitals in China’s rapidly growing urban areas to deliver improvements in the delivery of healthcare. Sinophi brings to hospitals in China international hospital expertise and technology, and builds partnerships with leading UK and international healthcare service and product partners. Earlier in his career, Hanif qualified as a doctor and practiced in the UK. He then spent eleven years in investment banking in corporate finance, derivatives and asset management with financial institutions including Prudential-Bache in London and New York, and Société Générale (SocGen) in Paris and Hong Kong. Returning to healthcare in 2000, Hanif undertook (as COO for Hong Kong) the restructuring of then HK-listed which he turned from loss to profit in nine months. This included the development of an innovative, web-based, combined medical claims processing and clinic management software and its implementation to Hong Kong’s largest physician group of over 700 doctors. Hanif graduated in medicine from Cambridge University and received his MBA from The Wharton School, USA.

Specialising in the conduct and supervision of multi-jurisdictional IP and patent litigation, I have significant experience in litigating in the Courts in Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia and Vietnam.

Meanwhile, my non-contentious practice covers the development and implementation of IP protection strategies, regulatory advice, IP audits and clearances.
